My Engagement Story!
It’s been a month and a half since I got engaged (for those of you who didn’t know…surprise!) and I thought that I would finally share my engagement story with everyone!
First of all, it came as a complete surprise! Yes, we had already discussed the idea of marriage and looked at rings in the past (mostly for fun, or so I thought). But that day, him popping the question was the last thing that I expected!
Basically, I had called my sister asking to go over so I could hang out with my niece and nephew and she said , “Sure, come on over on Sunday! Ravi will be over too!” Ravi is my cousin and he is also a photographer (you can check his work out here).
A few days later my cousin calls me up says he heard we would be going over to my sister’s on Sunday and was wondering if Chris and I were available to do a couples photoshoot for his portfolio. Well, I couldn’t say no to a photoshoot!
So we headed over to my sister’s in North Vancouver and met Ravi there. The three of us headed to the Lonsdale Quay to do the photoshoot. The entire time I had zero suspicions. Throughout the “photoshoot” people would keep stopping and staring at us, and Chris seemed really nervous. I figured it was the crowds, so I kept laughing and telling him “It’s ok, people probably just think we’re doing an engagement shoot!”
And then at one point, as we were standing for photos, Chris turned to me and said, “Well, since everyone thinks this is an engagement shoot, we might as well make it into one!” After that, I pretty much blacked out!!
I remember crying, saying “Are you serious?! a bunch of times, and turning in circles.
Finally, he reeled me back in said, “Well?!? Will you?!” and I said , “of course!” :) :) The next thing I knew, there were cheers from all around and he slipped the ring onto my finger!
It turns out Chris had spoken to my cousin beforehand and they had planned it all out. There was never a couples shoot for the portfolio. Sneaky, sneaky!
All in all, it was the happiest moment of my life! He did good! <3
