It's Love Baby...or Is It?
Love. Dating. Yikes.
It's a topic that I have avoided talking about. Being a single woman in a city buzzing with singles isn't as exciting as you'd think.
I have watched every episode of Sex and the City a dozen times, maybe more. Watching the show, I was always given the impression that men just came into your world without an ounce of effort. I mean, Carrie met men browsing books, at therapy, out dancing with the girls, etc. etc. etc.
I'm telling you, it's not that easy! TV shows definitely give us a false sense of dating. The Mindy Project is another great example. She seems to meet a new man every other day.
Many people love to ask why, or how, I am still single. Well, life is NOTHING like those TV shows. Good looking, single, career driven men do not just waltz up to you and slyly ask you on a date.
And to be quite honest, I'm pretty skeptical about the whole idea of love. Yes, I love my family and friends. But finding that one person that is meant for you. Is it possible for everyone?
Maybe one day I'll look at love in a different light. But for now, I'm happy loving life and those that are around me. If a man decides to sweep me off my feet while I'm browsing through books at a local store, I'll consider changing my mind....and write a post about ;-)
