How to Travel with Just a Carry On
For anyone who spends a lot time traveling, you can understand the importance of being comfortable while traveling, but also the need to be ready to go as soon as you get off the plane. Today I wanted to share some of my tips on how to dress for the airport and pack a carry on so that you are prepared!
Dressing for the Airport
Comfort is absolutely essential for the airport. You will be spending a few hours in the terminal and many more hours on the actual plane. So you have to be comfortable in whatever it is that you are wearing. What I like to do is go with some basics, like a nice comfy pair of black pants and sneakers. The great thing about black pants is that they can easily be dressed up if necessary! As for a top, I go with something fashionable, so that I don't look like I just rolled out of bed, but versatile. Think of a top that can be layered, in case you get cold. One that you can be comfortable in, but would still wear on a day out.
Packing Your Carry-On
Over the years I have become pretty damn efficient at packing. While traveling through Europe, I normally only took a carry-on with me for week vacations at a time. I like to travel with a capsule like wardrobe. This means having few pieces that you can mix and match to create a variety of looks. I also think of the outfit that I'm wearing to the airport and how I can incorporate it into my trip wardrobe. This is why black pants and a nice top are the way to go when at the airport. You can easily throw a nice pair of shoes into your carry-on, and voila! you have an additional look!
This weekend I'm off to Calgary for a volleyball tournament, so I really tried to be efficient with my packing! Sporty on one side, fashionista on the other. :)
