How to Survive a Busy Week
These last few weeks I have felt as though I've barely had a moment to breathe. For me, being busy always seems to come and go. There are moments where I literally feel like I have nothing to do and all I am doing is laying around watching TV. Then other times, it's as if I haven't sat still for more than a minute.
Today I wanted to share some tips on how to make it through those busy weeks without breaking down!
1. Create a list
To do lists are my favourite! (NERD!) haha but seriously, I love making them. They help make my brain feel organized and I get a clearer picture of what needs to be accomplished.
Once you've made your "to do" list, the best next step is to make a logical timeline. Organize your tasks so that you can efficiently accomplish them. Maybe put quick, simple tasks first so you can easily knock them off. Spread out longer, more complex tasks so that you have enough time to really put in the effort needed.
3. Schedule breaks
I know that you might want to finish everything as quickly as possible, however breaks are so vital. They help you refresh and reorganize your thoughts. Make sure to schedule in breaks, whether it's a few hours or a day, so that you have time to get your mind off the tasks at hand for a bit. It may even allow for some new ideas to pop into your head!
4. Reward Yourself!
It's the oldest trick in the book, but positive reinforcement (even with yourself) works! Make the end goal something to look forward to. Reward yourself for accomplishing a set amount of tasks. Maybe it's a prolonged break, a special meal, or..for me...some shopping! Rewards works great to help you stay motivated!
The best part of it all is the sense of accomplishment you'll feel once you've made it through your busy week (or weeks)!
