Cover FX Mattifying Anti-Blemish Treatment BB Gel

Cover FX Mattifying Anti-Blemish Treatment BB Gel

After many years of using the same liquid foundation, I felt like it was maybe time to try something new.

I went into Sephora and received a colour match service which allowed them to help me find the right shade for my skin.  I tested out a couple of different foundations and settled on this, Cover FX, mattifying foundation.  For $44+tax, the price seemed reasonable.

When I got home, I was excited to try it for myself. The first thing I noticed was that the foundation itself was quite runny, so you have be very careful when squeezing since quite a bit can come out.

I used a foundation brush to apply the product on my face. It felt quite light during and after application and it left my skin feeling really soft.

However, I felt like it looked caked on, even though I had only applied very little. I can only imagine how it would have looked if I tried to build coverage.  When little was applied, it did not provide enough coverage but I was afraid to put any more on.

In the end, this is not a foundation that I would use. It is very important that a foundation is barely visible when applied. For now, I have gone back to my original foundation. We'll see if I decide to give something else a try next time!

Pros: Lightweight, Leaves skin feeling soft, Helps with blemishes, Price is reasonable

Cons: Looks caked on, Little coverage
